Storyboard of Commercial

Knowing the psyche of the customer is a very important part of any marketing team’s job. Without the knowledge of what the target customer wants, it is impossible to sell a product to him. Once the target customer has been identified and also what appeals to him, one can start planning a way to sell him an idea, a concept, a service, or a product. The advertising agency’s main job is to take the information about the customer and create a commercial that will reach out to him. Part of this planning process is done with the help of a storyboard of commercial.

A commercial starts out as an idea about how the product should be projected to the intended customer. This idea is then converted into a story, or multiple stories. The client has to approve these stories which are then converted into commercials. In order to show the client the story, a storyboard of commercial is created. The storyboard of commercial has the advantage of being a visual medium of story-telling which does not cost as much as the commercial itself. This helps the client understand the story much better than verbally describing it to him.

In case there are multiple options, the client can select the storyboard of commercial that he likes and the agency can go ahead with it. If he wants alterations in the idea, they can be shown to him just as easily. Once the client’s approval is taken, the storyboard of commercial can be forwarded to the director of the commercial so that he knows exactly what he needs to produce.
