One of the best animators of all times- Tissa David- passes away
World of animation faced the tragic news when it was disclosed that one of the best and renowned animators of all time, Tissa David, passed away. Tissa was suffering from a prolonged illness of brain tumor. She took her last breath at the age of 91. The news of her demise was given through a blog of Sporn Michel, who had worked with David on various animation projects. It is a great loss for the animation world as she was respected for the contribution, which she made to the world of animation. Tissa was suffering from brain tumor since many years but she fought the battle and continued working on her projects.
Tissa David was born in Hungary. She went to an art school in Budapest. In the year 1950, she moved to Paris to learn about the art of animation. There she worked with some of the renowned animators and producers of all time, Image Jean and Grimault Paul. After living in Paris for five years, she moved to New York. There she started working as an assistant to Natwick Grim at UPA. In various commercials and features, she had also worked with Hubely John. During the 70’s, she started working with some of the renowned production houses. In addition, she also worked as the lead animator for various television projects and movies.
Tissa David was passionate about empowering woman to learn the art of animation. On her demise, some of the best animators stated with watery eyes that, she would be missed in the animation world.
